I grew up in Hamilton county and I am a graduate of Noblesville High School, which helps me relate to common people and families. My studies took me to IUPUI and Jackson College of Ministries where I received my degree in Biblical Studies. My work life includes stints at McDonald’s, self ownership of a vegetable stand in Noblesville, JC Penney, and landscape design. After college I served as a Dorm Supervisor for both Jackson College of Ministries and Indiana Bible College. I spent 15 years investing in young people at Indiana bible College. I had the privilege of marketing the college and traveling throughout the U.S. recruiting students and speaking at many venues. On campus I poured my passion into the students through teaching, focusing on developing students to have a desire to love God, not religion, teaching them to seek a move of the Spirit and the necessity of having a daily prayer life.

In 1991 I fell madly in love with Mary Odum; a proud resident of Connecticut and a graduate of Christian Life College in California who worked for the Tupelo Children’s Mansion in Mississippi. We married in 1992 and 30 years later we are still madly in love! We added Gentry and Risa to our family a few years after marriage and moved to Fishers, Indiana in 2001. The move to a Fishers was the moment our life took a dramatic turn. It started from a garage sale, began as a Bible study, and culminated in the founding of Life Connections Church. From it’s organic start we have watched it grow from set up-break down church of 50 to a campus that was built in 2009 that sets on 5.5 acres and seats 300 people. In 2019 we completed Phase 2 of our campus expansion which increased our seating to 500, added high end A/V, and increased the size of our educational department.

Today, I’m still privileged to be the Dad to Gentry and Jake and Risa Fontaine and Papa J to Carter. In September of 2022 I stepped away from the pastorate at Life and became its Senior Ministerial Advisor. My focus now is to develop young ministers and help pastors assess their current church environment. Currently I serve as Senior Ministerial Advisor and I am the Founding Pastor of Life in Fishers, Indiana. My life’s focus is to know God personally and to see a move of God’s Spirit that changes our culture, community and the attitude toward God.

In my personal life I enjoy time with my wife and kids, golf, pickle ball, biking, spending time in my back yard, reading and writing.
